Wildfire Research
The Projects

Research Project
Social Issue Presentation
My first dive into wildfires and the feedback loop. Created a slideshow based off research to advocate for my issue as well as to set up for future projects to come. Presented in class to a small group of students and a professor.
How It Came Together
The Process
As a lover of facts and data, researching this topic really pulled me in multiple different directions. There is a slew of data available on wildfires and climate change, so condensing it down into a 5 minute presentation was difficult. All the research proved to be rather valuable however, as it was the basis that my final exhibit would eventually be based on.
Senior Event
Poster Show Poster
My submission for our Senior classes Poster show. The show was a fundraiser for our senior exhibition, with hundreds of posters available for purchase via different auction methods. As an event with a multitude of different design styles on display, I thought it apt to keep the poster itself simplistic, and allow the other posters speak for themselves at the event. As for the title, I went in a more literal direction, comparing visitors attending the event with them stepping into the world of design.
How It Came Together
Sketches & Iterations
I had the name of my poster farily early on, so most of my work was refining the visuals into what I was envisoning. I started out with a lot of elements, including textures and shadow's, but in the end, I decided that keeping it simple was the most effective method.

Senior Poster Show: Unfold
The poster show event turned out to be a great success, we had a great turnout and it felt good to be part of the work that went into putting it together.
Print Committee Work
As a member of the print committee, my primary involvements included handling hundreds of posters. During this process, we noted their condition and organized them into our system so they could be easily identified. On the night of the show, I also helped to package sold posters up, as well as help the customers pick up the posters they won on silent auction.

Senior Project
Clock Project
This was a very unique project that saw us tasked with designing a clock based on our selected social issue. In this project, I aimed to capture the things that wildfire's impact the heaviest – nature. Making the physical clock was very challenging, but taught me a lot in terms of project management.
How It Came Together
Trial & Error
A lot went into designing and creating this clock. I initially started in a very different direction, but caught onto my vision quickly after that. Creating the clock was the real process. Finding a way to create depth and transparency was something I struggled with, and would be the first hurdle I tackle if I were to redesign this clock again.

Senior Event
Senior Exhibition Poster
My submissions for our classes senior exhibition. Both centered around the theme of processing, as the process of our designs was a key part of our work during our program. It also plays on the fact that our graudation is 'processing' and happening so soon. A requirement of the poster was to have all of our names integrated into the poster, so finding creative ways to do that was a fun challenge.

How It Came Together
Sketches & Iterations
I went through a couple more variations of poster concepts for this one, but once I started to mess around with the processing concept, I knew it felt the strongest to me.

What Remains After the Burn
For my final project as an ASU graphic design student, we were tasked with creating a physical exhibit on a 7 foot tall wooden structure. The exhibit exists to advocate for our social issue that we have been attached to for the entirety of our senior year. Creating something on this large of a scale is something that I have never done before, and initially was a very daunting task. It forced me out of my comfort zone, but at the same time tied in my love of analytics and data with my passion for design. I am extremely proud of the final result, I believe that it ties in a plethora of valuable data, while still remaining something that is thoughtfully designed and visually interesting. I think the work speaks for itself, and is a testament to the amount of time that went into both designing and constructing it.
